At the Kirin Group we love football, the Japan National Team, and the fans of the game. We want to support them all as they work towards their dreams.

The Kirin Group has been supporting Japanese football for over three decades since 1978 when our sponsorship of Japan's first-ever international tournament, the Japan Cup (now called the Kirin Cup), was launched. Over the years, the Japan National Team has steadily raised its game, and football in Japan has significantly expanded its footprint. We believe that Kirin Group has contributed to the increase in the number of enthusiastic fans, in the number of people who enjoy playing the game with their friends, and in the number of children dreaming of representing their country on the pitch one day. Nonetheless, room remains for Japanese football to progress, and we look forward to its further evolution.

Kirin Group is passionate about contributing to building a stronger national team and football culture in Japan. We support the Japan National Team's key goals: its commitment to being one of the world's top ten teams by 2015, and to both hosting and winning the FIFA World Cup™ by 2050.

These are the reasons why we have become an Official Bid Partner committed to bringing the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ to Japan as the host nation. While continuing with our whole-hearted support for the Japan National Team, Kirin Group also plans to contribute to the ongoing development of Japanese football. Our aim is to create a football culture here in Japan, so that the sport grows into something that more and more people enjoy as an integral part of their everyday lives.
