Bringing the Excitement Back to Japan.
SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation's relationship with the FIFA World Cup™ dates back to the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™. Awarded the exclusive CS broadcasting rights for that tournament, we broadcast all 64 games live and free of charge to great public acclaim. We then went on to broadcast all the games from the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, not only bringing world football closer to Japan, but contributing to the development of Japanese football. We will be providing free live high-definition broadcasts of all the games for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ when it kicks off in June this year. Our concept for 2010 is: “Let's watch the games at the global standard.” In other words, we hope Japanese football will get even better than its current world-class level, while our broadcasting sets the global standard in its field.
We can still remember the excitement of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™. We want to experience that special feeling of being the host country again, and we want everyone to enjoy the thrills and excitement along with us. We are proud to be part of Japan's bid because we want to help promote football among the Japanese and, in so doing, contribute to raise the level of our national game.
